DIY Natural Hair Mask

Hello beauties, we all have tried various face masks but when it comes to hair mask, a lot of questions do arise in our minds. Which ingredients will be best for my hairs? My scalp is oily but my hair ends are dry, what to do? How to make a mask which has a multipurpose solution.

The simplest thing you can start with is henna (mehandi). It is easily available and most importantly you can add various things while making a henna hair mask.

I make my own hair mask which is suitable for all hair types, all age groups, both for men and women. So let's start to make the pack.

INGREDIENTS

1. Henna powder - 2 to 3 cups (according to your hair length.

2. Reetha Shikakai Powder - 4 tspn

3. Tata tea (or anyone you use) boiled in water - 1 tspn

4. Curd / Yogurt (dahi) - 2 tspn

STEPS :

1. Take Reetha Shikakai Powder in a bowl and add water to form a solution which should be neither thick nor runny.

2. Pour this to the mehandi using a sieve (chhani) or muslin cloth.

3. Boil the tea leaves in water. Cool it for 2 minutes and then add it to henna mixture again using a sieve and mix to form a paste.

4. Add curd to the henna paste and mix. Leave it overnight or for 5-6 hours.

5. Apply it all over your hairs from scalp to hair ends and let it sit for 3-4 hours. Wash it off without using shampoo.

BENEFITS OF THIS HAIR MASK

1. HENNA : It improves hair growth, controls hair fall, good hair conditioner, prevents dandruff, repairs split ends, makes hair shinny and soft and above all it is a natural dye.

2. Reetha Shikakai : It makes your hair shinny and thicker, fights dandruff, prevents dry scalp, delays grey hair.

3. CURD : It is a very good conditioner and prevents dandruff.

4. Addition of tea leaves solution (black tea) helps getting the beautiful red shine to your hairs.

I hope you found the natural hair mask very easy to prepare. Give it a try and see the difference in your hairs.

Patanjali Aloe vera Shampoo | Review

Hello beauties, I am back with another product of Patanjali. This time it's an Aloe Vera shampoo. Aloe vera is a multipurpose natural product as you can use it in many ways may it be for your skin, hairs, body or health. There are a lot of aloe vera based beauty products in the market. Today, we will see what Patanjali has claimed for its shampoo is how far true.

PRICE : ₹75 for 200ml

SHELF LIFE : 24 months

PACKAGING : It comes in transparent plastic bottle having a flip-flop cap.

COLOR AND FRAGRANCE : The shampoo is grass green in color and the fragrance is very soothing.

WHAT THE PRODUCT CLAIMS : Removes hair fall, minimize split ends, removes dirt from hair and scalp.

COMPOSITION : Aloe vera (500mg / 10ml), Tulsi, Brahmi, Reetha, Amla, Bhringraj, Heena, Shikakai, Hibiscus.

MY EXPERIENCE OF USING PATANJALI ALOE VERA SHAMPOO

  • It removes dirt from hair and scalp effectively giving the hairs a bounce which you expect after washing.

  • It is a gel based shampoo which means it does not add extra smoothness which the cream based shampoo does. So it is very good for oily hairs and dandruff prone scalp.

  • It lathers very easily and you do not require extra quantity to get the "wash" feeling.

  • It does not dry your scalp.

  • I cannot say it completely removes hair fall, but it controls the hair fall. You can easily notice the difference in the hair fall after using it.

  • I do not have split ends, so I really don't know whether it works on minimizing split ends or not.
MY RATING : 4/5 , for its composition, fragrance, hair fall control, price and availability.

OVERALL VERDICT : I really liked the product from Patanjali as it stands true to what it claims (sorry 😢 don't know about split ends). I would highly recommend this one as its composition is too good and one should try such a good doze of natural products for their scalp.

Patanjali Anti-Dandruff Shampoo | Review

Patanjali is an Ayurveda brand which has launched variety of products, whether it is for personal care, food items and even beauty products. The products are made up of naturally found herbs with a least use of chemicals. But, do every product works as it claims? You will get to know after reading the review of this Patanjali Kesh Kanti Anti dandruff shampoo.

PRICE : ₹110 for 200ml

SHELF LIFE : 2 years

PACKAGING : The shampoo comes in slender white bottle with the pictures of the herbs in front side as well. At the back side of the bottle, the ingredients are clearly mentioned.

FRAGRANCE & COLOR : Its smell is very similar to that of any product of tea tree oil. For me it was not that good that I get fond of it. The shampoo is light green in color.

WHAT THE PRODUCT CLAIMS : It controls hairfall, removes dandruff and cleanses hairs. Best results when used daily.

MY EXPERIENCE :
  • Unlike what it claims, it does not have any effects on dandruff. In my case, I noticed that instead of removing the dandruff, it added more to my scalp.
  • I washed my hairs with this shampoo without oiling my hairs. Shockingly, it makes your hairs bit oily as well.
  • As per the hairfall issue is concerned, it does not completely control hairfall but if you have hairfall before using it, it will not deteriorate the condition. I guess, may be because of herbal ingredients.
  • The day you will wash your hairs, the hairs will be clean and shiny, but yes only for that day.
  • This means, you really need to wash your hairs daily which is a bit tiring task ladies..

MY RATING : 2/5 , for its price and natural ingredients.

OVERALL VERDICT : It's not that all the Patanjali products are not effective, I have used many of them and would review them soon, but this one was highly disappointing. As per it's name "anti dandruff", it should atleast control dandruff, but it worked just the opposite.
I would not at all purchase this again and recommend you the same.

L'oreal professional paris instant clear shampoo

L'oreal Professional Paris INSTANT CLEAR Shampoo Review

Hello everyone, I am back with a product from L'oreal. It is an anti-dandruff shampoo. Dandruff is a common problem faced by many people and to get rid of it we try all types of natural remedies, shampoos and oils but in the end the stubborn dandruff is back again on our heads and shoulders. My search has now ended up with a shampoo which I am going to review it today.

PRICE : ₹575 for 250ml

SHELF LIFE : 36 months

PACKAGING : It comes in a white cylindrical bottle with a silver cap which has a flip-flop opening system.

SMELL : It has a fragrance very similar to that of a toothpaste with a mint flavor.

CONSISTENCY & COLOR : The shampoo is viscous and light green in color.

WHAT THE PRODUCT CLAIMS : It is an instant clear shampoo for normal to oily hair. It reduces the appearance of visible flakes from the first application. The formula works to purify the hair and scalp leaving it feeling refreshed and soothing. Hair feels nourished and looks shiny. With a unique combination of Zinc Pyrithione and Citric Acid, it helps cleanse and nourish dandruff prone oily hair.

WHAT I LIKED ABOUT IT :
  • It stands true to its claims. You can feel the dandruff being washed away after first wash. You will not find any hardly after third wash.
  • It gives a cool sensation to your scalp while washing and also after the hairs have been washed. I must say a boon for summers.
  • The light smell of mint is very refreshing.
  • It contains Citric Acid which means a good source of Vitamin C for your hair.
  • You need comparatively less quantity than other shampoos as it is very thick and lathers easily.
  • The bottle is travel friendly and the lid does not breaks easily.
WHAT I DON'T LIKED ABOUT IT :
  • It dries the hair a little so you need to apply a conditioner or hair serum after its application.
  • In my case, there were some hair fall which may not be the same for everyone.

BUY IT :
  • If you have dandruff prone normal to oily hairs.
  • If you like the cooling effect of the products on your scalp.
  • If you are fed up experimenting oils and shampoos which claimed anti-dandruff  effects but were not effective.
DON'T BUY IT :
  • If you have dry hair.
  • If you are die hard fan of herbal products.
MY RATING :  ****,  for its anti-dandruff , long lasting effects, fragrance and cooling sensation.

OVERALL VERDICT : I liked the shampoo from L'oreal because what it says, it does.. "Instant clear". It is very promising, removes dandruff after regular use. Though my hairs get dry sometime, I am going to repurchase it as it does not allow the visible white flakes to reappear.

I hope you guys like my post. Do give a try to the Instant clear shampoo from L'oreal and let me know your views. You can write your queries and feedbacks in the comment box below. Wait for my next post, till then enjoy and don't forget to follow my blog.
